"Let us have no more croaking about what cannot be done; let us see what can be done, and above all, see that it is done." ~ Alice McLellan Birney, PTA founder
When you join the George Washington High School (GWHS) PTSA, you become a member of the the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America. Today’s PTA is comprised of more than 4 million parents, teachers, grandparents, caregivers, foster parents and other caring adults who share a commitment to improving the education, health, and safety of all children. We speak with one voice for every child.
Our PTSA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education.
Studies show that the students of parents and family members who stay involved with their student's school life are more successful. One of the best and easiest ways to stay involved and connected is by joining the PTSA. This organization is committed to the well being of all the students at GWHS, supporting their efforts for improvement, their achievements and their individual paths to adulthood.
The GWHS PTSA has a strong partnership with the administration and staff which provides monthly Eagle Family nights and an opportunity to become familiar with the staff and resources available to your students on their journey through High School. Some of our upcoming topics this year include, "Navigating High School, College Night and the Summer Resource Fair".
You are invited and welcome to tune in to any of our joint PTSA meeting/Eagle Family Nights where we will be presenting PTSA year-to-date reports in conjunction with timely and relevant topics for parents and community members. Check the PTSA calendar and home page for more information.
Stay in touch with the GWHS community, too! See you soon!
